How can ThreeSpires Physiotherapy help me with my musculoskeletal injury?

One of our mobile physios will come to your home at a time and day of your choosing – avoiding the need to leave the house and go to a clinic which can be extremely difficult and tiring for people with long working hours or the pressures of family life.

A full subjective assessment (discussion with your physio) will take place. The physiotherapist will cover the details of your injury, your current and previous mobility and fitness levels and your goals for the future. Your physio will also look at your lifestyle, past medical history, symptoms, aggravating factors, nature of the condition and any risk factors in order to gain a full picture and how best to proceed.

A comprehensive physical examination of your posture, strength, range of movement, gait and bio-mechanics will then be undertaken. This will enable your physiotherapist to identify the best rehabilitation strategies and develop an effective treatment plan to alleviate any pain and assist you in returning to full fitness.

Treatment options during the session may include, balance work, strengthening exercises, joint mobilisation, gait re-education, deep tissue massage,  stretching, trigger point release, myofascial release techniques, soft tissue release, proprioceptive neuro-muscular facilitation. The appropriate combination of treatment options will be chosen by your physio and tailored to provide maximum improvement in terms of strength, range of motion, mobility, fitness and reduction in any pain.

Self management is a key part of recovering from musculoskeletal injuries and your physio will provide you with an individualised rehabilitation program that is tailored to meet your requirements and goals whatever they may be. Elements included in this program will be: a graded strengthening and exercise program, stretching techniques, balance exercises, postural advice, core strengthening exercises and strategies to re-adapt to normal daily life.
